What We Do
Omnivalence Consulting Group, LLC (OCG) was first conceived of back in 2012 by Alexander Berenbeim and Karman Lucero. Having met as undergraduates at Columbia University, their partnership developed from a shared appreciation for interdisciplinary approaches to understanding complex social phenomena. The germ of the idea for OCG developed during Alexander Berenbeim's first masters degree, when he noticed that many of his fellow students at Columbia Graduate School of Business had a superficial understanding of the meaning of the mathematical formalism they were using to describe business and social processes, while the applied mathematicians from the School of Engineering had little interest in describing social and legal dynamics that might hinder the implementation of their formal models. Dedicated to reaching and remaining on the cutting edge frontier of mathematical research, he pursued advanced degrees in mathematics, while Karman Lucero developed his expertise in comparative legal approaches to the regulation of artificial intelligence and technology. Together, they have combined their expertise to found a consultancy consisting of research level mathematicians and legal scholars to analyze an enterprises' application of the tools of data science to operations, describe the successes and failures thereof, and prescribe solutions to aid businesses and their development with the judicious application of algorithms. The name, Omnivalence, was chosen for its manifold meanings, drawn from both the subject of graph theory and of psychology, as it intends to evoke the polymorphic and interrelated nature of technical solutions to human problems.
Our three primary core competencies are strategic, operational, and technical consulting regarding the implementation of the tools and methods of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Machine Learning for enterprise needs. We are particularly excited to partner with and aid enterprises that are looking to understand and utilize these tools to build better management systems and guide human decision making with reliable metrics.
